LA Explodes in Jubilation as Los Angeles Dodgers Secure Second World Series Championship
Los Angeles witnessed widespread festivities after the Dodgers won a thrilling seven-game World Series title. Supporters worldwide joined Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a team has secured consecutive championships.
Celebration Parade Draws Enormous Turnout
Los Angeles area celebrations featured a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties across the city.
Online footage depict thousands of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many carrying handmade banners and team flags. The team was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy high.
“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an translator.
The procession path ended at Dodger Stadium, where the players emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard providing music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the field.
Early Celebrations and Athlete Responses
Festivities began well before the procession, with Dodgers fans lighting fireworks in the streets of the city center on Sunday night.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented plainly about the victory.

In contrast, the team owner received a cooler welcome at the rally. Video footage from the event appear to show him walking onstage to a mix of cheers and jeers, with jeers interrupting his speech.
The World Series acted as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An approximate 225,000 people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, supporters this year showed as much if not more support.
“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman said. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
