Across the fiercely competitive world of video games, it's usual for fresh competitors to vanish as rapidly as they burst on to the stage.
But the latest Battlefield is aiming to alter that.
This is the latest entry in a long-standing military shooter series commonly positioned as a more realistic alternative to its main competitor.
This game has seldom been able to equal its most famous rival in aspects of units sold or gamers, but evidence points to the new installment could close the gap.
A trial session allowing gamers a chance to test the release not long ago set new benchmarks, and the hype leading up to its launch has been massive.
Yet the project is nevertheless a big venture for publisher the gaming giant, which has allegedly invested hundreds of millions of dollars producing it.
Our team has spoken to some of the makers to find out how they expect it will pay off.
Development Crew and Company Collaboration
Four studios are developing the project under the collaborative umbrella.
They include long-time developer the original team, headquartered in Europe, California's Motive team and Ripple Effect Studios in Canada.
The fourth, the UK studio, is situated in the UK.

Building On Earlier Errors

"Partnering with diverse cultures, distinct heritages, it's a truly fascinating atmosphere to be involved in every day," he shares.
"This whole method has been something new but also truly inspiring because we are partnering with individuals from around the globe."
Concerning the pressure on the team, the director comments: "There is stress but also it's exciting.
"It's a major venture. It's likely the most significant that the majority of the team have before worked on."
New Artist Contributes Innovative Perspective

This young professional produces the lighting elements that shape the mood, style, and direction of the single-player campaign.
